The Help Needed by a Busy Travel Junkie -- A One Stop Travel Shop!

HELLO WORLD:

Traveling.  I would like to believe that it's in my DNA. :)  If there's one thing I would like to do for the rest of my life, one of which would be traveling.  BUT my hectic schedule would not permit that, at the moment.  I'm at the prime of my career, and there's no slowing down anytime soon. BUT it doesn't mean I would let go of my passion for traveling.  If there's no time, I will find time for it definitely.  But I need a little help.

In those few moments that I'm able to travel, I only have a few time to prepare.  In fact it could just be hours before the actual flight or land trip.  So in those few hours, I usually rush up to the mall and look for the things I need -- travel gear, bag, toiletries etc.  And unfortunately, there's no single section that is devoted for travel.  For example, bag section would not have padlock or passport holder.  I still need to go to the warehouse and leather section.  So it becomes an added burden for the very little time I have.

POTATO ON THE GO (Theater):

Joseph the Dreamer.  The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.  These are just two of the most  memorable plays that theater group Trumpets staged that I remember.  In the fast few years, I asked why Trumpets was silent, I wondered why there was no family-oriented but highly entertaining musicals being ran from this amazing theater group.

Tyltyl (Anton Posadas) and Mytyl (Alessa Zialcita)

And the answer I got was not an explanation but a surprise... response to what I've been longing for -- Trumpets' big comeback!

Much Awaited Staycation in Waterfront Manila Pavilion!

HELLO WORLD:

Staycation. Aside from spa or massage, I think staycation or the art of making staying indoors a prime leisure activity :) has become my favorite hobby in recent years. Perhaps my reason would be taking a break from the stress I always experience caused about the fast paced environment where I move around.

Like for example, after a week of "death defying stunts" and sleepless nights for several projects at hand, I will definitely check-in at a hotel or inn and spend an overnight to relax, sleep longer and enjoy the serenity. Some may find it unnecessary but for someone like me, it is a must as I need that quick break.

Matt Damon takes on the lead role of Max in TriStar Pictures' futuristic action thriller “Elysium” whose socio-political message underneath the gripping action scenes isn't lost on the actor.

Steve Carell is the antagonist in THE WAY, WAY BACK (Opens Sep 11, exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas)

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

An eminently likeable actor, Steve Carell (“Crazy, Stupid Love”) might not seem like an obvious choice for the controlling and obnoxious character, Trent, in Fox Searchlight’s poignant, coming-of-age tale “The Way, Way Back,” but that was part of the reason the filmmakers pursued him.

“Trent sets the tone for the movie,” says producer Tom Rice. “He needs to be adversarial, but he has to have enormous charm. You want a Trent you can believe a single mother wants to be with. When we started talking about the character, we were thinking about going in a very different direction for Trent. He was more of a beach bum, a ’60s wannabe. Then we put together a list of some outside-the-box choices. Steve Carell was at the top.”

THIS IS THE END features actors as their wacky selves (Opens Sep 11, exclusively at Ayala Malls Cinemas)

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

For a film about the group dynamics among a group of friends facing the apocalypse, it’s no surprise that the characters in Columbia Pictures' critically acclaimed comedy “This Is The End” were tailor-made for the actors playing the roles. They would all play horrible “versions” of themselves, says co-director/writer Evan Goldberg.

In “This Is The End,” six friends – who just happen to be James Franco, Jonah Hill, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson – are trapped in Franco’s house as the end of the world begins outside. And we’re not talking about any old California-slides-into-the-ocean earthquake… we’re talking the fire-and-brimstone Apocalypse – the real Biblical deal.
