Hormonal Adventure in LOVE BITE

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

But in a town in which everyone knows everyone else, that’s easier said than done.

Things for Jamie have a habit of getting complicated. So when he meets Juliana (Szohr) – a smart, funny and absurdly beautiful girl from out of town – things quickly get, well, complicated. Jamie starts to believe that Juliana might be a werewolf since she arrived at the same time several of his mates started to disappear. Robert De Niro is Untouchable Once More in THE FAMILY (aka Malavita)

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

Robert De Niro is one of the most celebrated screen actors of all time. He continues to expand his boundless range with performances spanning from comic to serious and everything in between. Robert De Niro is back to his gangster ways starring in films like Goodfellas, Casino, The Untouchables, Once Upon Time in America and The Godfather II, De Niro has proven time and time again that he is at home in gangster genre. And while he’s starred in a few bad titles over the last few years, it’s always good to see him come back home, and that sentiment can now be extended to Luc Besson’s new crime comedy-thriller ‘The Family’ (aka Malavita).

Based on the book “Badfellas” by Tonino Benacquista, The Family centers on the Manzino family, a mafia clan that has to go onto witness protection when the patriarch , Giovanni (De Niro), testifies against his associates. Hiding as Blakes, the family. De Niro says he was attracted to the film’s humour and original point of view. “It’s an unusual take on the mobster genre with a novel storyline,” he says. “My character was a crime boss in New York, but he turned in his whole crew. When he entered the Witness Protection Program with his family, they were sent to France, but every place they have been resettled, they end up in hot water. Now they are in the middle of nowhere and it might as well be Mars. The situation can seem a bit surreal, but the character is very real and relatable.”

Skyscanner reveals airline passengers want to use their mobile gadgets during flight!

TADI ALERT:

A survey by leading global travel search site Skyscanner has found that 61% of flyers want to use their mobile devices in-flight while 33% immediately turn on their phones as soon as they touch down.

“These findings are based on a study conducted on behalf of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) by the Aviation Rulemaking Committee which revealed that the ban on the use of portable electronic devices (PEDs) such as smartphones and laptops could be set to end, after a US scientific study found no reason why they should be turned off during take-off and landing,” says Janet Ranola, Philippine Marketing Manager for Skyscanner. “Also, other PEDs, like tablets can be used safely while a plane is taxiing, taking off, landing and while at a cursing altitude.”

Totoo pala ang lamig -- A real therapeutic spa experience at NuLiving Spa in Binondo

FEATURISTIC:

Often times, I hear my massage therapist saying "angdami mong lamig".  And since I'm usually half-sleep while undergoing the therapy, I often ignore that remark.  I thought it was just a way for them to show the "science" or "relevance" of massage.  So I just let them talk while I just savor the hand strokes at my back because with or without science, and with all the stress, I will always avail of spa services.

But when we visited NuLiving Spa in Binondo, I discovered that "lamig" (literally means cold) is indeed true!  Lamig's medical terminology is nodule and the diagnosis for it is myofascial pain syndrome.

The Anatomy of WikiLeaks Scandal in THE FIFTH ESTATE

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

Every generation produces a rebellious figure who changes the game of power and becomes something larger than himself; for some, a visionary symbol of hope; for others, a dangerous enemy of the state. In the early 21st Century, such a figure has emerged in Julian Assange and his groundbreaking, information-disseminating organization, WikiLeaks. Initiated in 2006 as a non-profit devoted to publishing previously secret, potentially incendiary information from anonymous sources -- while offering the security of cutting-edge cryptography -- WikiLeaks shattered the mold of 21st Century news-gathering, trumping mainstream media organizations and infuriating people in power.

Then, Assange became a news story unto himself. In 2010, as WikiLeaks led the release of the largest trove of secret, government files ever to see the light of day, Assange began to emerge simultaneously as a hero, a villain (?), a journalist, or perhaps just a guarded man caught in a blinding global spotlight.

She also appeared in Alex Kurtzman‟s drama People like Us, opposite Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde and Elizabeth Banks, and Garry Marshall‟s romantic comedy New Year’s Eve, alongside Robert De Niro, Hilary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker and Ashton Kutcher.

This year she is starring opposite Robert De Niro in the film "The Family," Pfeiffer plays the wife of De Niro, who plays a Brooklyn mobster. Their family has been forced to move to Normandy, France, under the witness protection program. “Michelle Pfeiffer was Luc‟s first choice to play Maggie Blake. She agreed to do the film very quickly because the story is so appealing and so was the idea of working with Luc and Robert.”

The Return of Chris Hemsworth as the Mighty Avenger in THOR: THE DARK WORLD

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth reprises the role of Thor for the third time in Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World.”

In this latest epic adventure, Hemsworth is back in his glory, looking every bit like the Mighty Avenger that audiences have come to idolize. Hemsworth says of his return, “I love playing the character. The trick is to find new ways to make the character have some sort of advance or growth from the last film. Each time we get to break him down and find his human qualities and his vulnerable side it’s interesting because he has such a tough exterior and an unbreakable feel.”

A Huge Surprise is Coming to the Philippines!

TADI ALERT:

Did you know that surprises make people remarkably happier?

Surprises have, indeed, powerful effects. Psychologist Norbert Schwarz conducted a classic study where it was found that a small but pleasant surprise, such as finding 10 cents, uplifts a person’s mood. Schwarz repeatedly placed a coin near a copy machine where it can be easily seen. When the subjects who found the coin were surveyed shortly thereafter, their overall satisfaction with life was significantly higher than those who did not find the coin.

Enjoy chocolate in many ways via GOYA TAKE IT!

TADI ALERT:

They say Filipinos love sweets.  That's why falling in love with chocolates was easy for us.  But where did these chocolates come from and how can we enjoy it many different ways?

The Greeks were on to something when they called the cacao tree the “food for the gods.” It is, after all, where chocolate comes from.

And, if left on their own, people would anoint chocolate a food group, like grains and vegetables. To many, chocolate is already an elixir, capable of banishing fatigue, boosting flagging spirits and mimicking the giddy feeling of being in love.

That chocolate has other health benefits (decreasing the risk of stroke, upping heart health) is, well, more reason to eat it! In fact, Goya has found another easy-peasy way to get your fix: by just taking it.

Yes, the new Goya Take It molded chocolate wafers are three-layer crispy wafer fingers smothered in milk chocolate and available in easy-to-carry packs of 2 fingers, 4 fingers and, if you’re a choco hoarder, a 6 pack of 2 fingers.
