From school affairs to family gatherings, we can notice how Pinoy parents are so much involved in nurturing the talent of their kids. Parents help their children undergo training, coaching, exhibition and competition to develop their talents and skills and share their God given gift to other people. But our society has already evolved. The showcase of talent went beyond in just performing in the immediate surrounding. In the 70s to 90s, children join singing competitions and noon time programs in TV. In early 2000, reality TV took over and talent search among children evolved as well. And in 2010, kids' talent invaded the Internet and perfect examples are Charice Pempengco, Maria Aragon, among others. But now, Promil Pre-School and ABS-CBN made kiddie talent search even better by combining reality TV, online integration and the nurturing process of kids' talents which give birth to the program PROMIL PRE-SCHOOL I-SHINE TALENT CAMP!
From the on-ground auditions at the Mall of Asia, Puregold and Cebu Parkmall, to video entries uploaded at the i-Shine website and sent via PO box, hundreds of kids nationwide have showcased their talents in a bid to be part of this year’s Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp.
Today, the search has ended as Promil Pre-School and ABS-CBN unveiled the 12 kids who make up this year’s finalists as they celebrated the launch of the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp TV show.
Premiering this June 23, Saturday, at 9:30 am, the show will certainly inspire parents to nurture the talents of their kids as they witness the journey of the 12 i-Shiners.
Hosted by Kapamilya stars Dimples Romana, MatteoGuidicelli and Xian Lim, the weekly program will showcase the 12 i-Shiners undergoing different talent workshops with the support of their parents and expert mentors from ABS-CBN. These include John Prats for dancing, Karylle for singing, Luis Manzano for hosting and DirekBobotMortiz and DirekFrascoMortiz for acting. Parents can get an intimate glimpse of how talents can be developed and nurtured as they watch the i-Shiners hone their potential in their quest to win the ultimate prize. The grand winner of the i-Shine Talent Camp will receive a talent contract from Star Magic and Promil Pre-School, plus P500,000 in cash.
In my talk with Dimples, Matteo and Xian, they revealed how happy they are to be part of this show. Dimples even said that the children are "malambing", they keep on hugging them, and they all had fun taping the show with the kids. Xian knows the children one by one and in fact, he pointed almost each one of them and shared with me the unique traits of the kids. Matteo also shared that his mom told him that he was a Promil kid. No wonder he became a race champ, a promising singer and now one of our country's young lead actors.
