Chris Hemsworth's IN THE HEART OF THE SEA releases teaser trailer

POTATO ON THE GO NEWS FEED (Movie):

Take your first look at the teaser trailer of Ron Howard's “In the Heart of the Sea,” the new action adventure based on Nathaniel Philbrick’s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the New England whaling ship Essex. Watch the trailer here:

In the winter of 1820, the Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story.

“In the Heart of the Sea” reveals the encounter’s harrowing aftermath, as the ship’s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.

ILUSTRADO - Another groundbreaking drama series from GMA Network! (World Premiere on Oct. 20, 9:20 pm)

POTATO ON THE GO FEATURE (TV):

The search for good Philippine TV programs is like the hunt for fish in Manila Bay. You know what I mean. So the moment you found one, you celebrate, you feast, because it's like experiencing a miracle! :)

Let's set aside news and information programs because we definitely can excel in that field. But in drama? I actually read an online article why Philippine TV dramas can't be like Hollywood. While I agree with most of what the writer said but I can't say yes with the rest because there were some that showed promise. And... we don't need to follow Hollywood if we want to excel in this field. We just need to excel. Exclamation point. We don't need to copy anything.

WWF calls to pursue renewable energy to solve power crisis

TADI NEWS FEED

With the Department of Energy’s warning that an impending power shortage will befall the Luzon grid next year, the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) reiterates its call for the Philippine government to pursue more actively mainstream renewable energy (RE) solutions to meet the growing demand for electricity. Especially if we aim for enhanced national competitiveness through increased control over the supply and cost of power, RE must be integrated as the primary solution to the power development plan of the Philippines.

The Giants of Ilocos Norte – The Philippines has immense RE potential. Shown are the famed windmills of Bangui in Ilocos Norte, which provides clean and unlimited power for 40% of the province. Renewable energy sources are perfect for developing nations. (Gregg Yan / WWF)
Based on the current power situation, there is already an adequate supply of grid-connected base-load power plants. The predicted shortfall that the DOE has stated will mostly affect intermediate and peak loads. Thus, intermediate or peak power plants are required to address coming needs.
