Nora Aunor Saves THY WOMB (Sa Iyong Sinapupunan) -- THY WOMB Movie Review

POTATO ON THE GO REVIEW (Movie):

A few months ago, I was not happy when I learned that Studio 5 (Lola Basyang) backed out from this year's 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival.  If the plan was to use original Lola Basyang stories, I would have supported the film.  But thank goodness, MMFF organizers announced its replacement THY WOMB (Sa Iyong Sinapupunan) and I can't help but get excited about seeing the movie!

When I saw Brillante Mendoza and the cast in a news report showing how they were well received in Venice Film Festival and the movie trailer, I just knew another gem in Philippine cinema has been produced.

At her sexy and feisty opening number (Shine and Where Have You Been), we were not able to fully notice that Regine was suffering from an ailment.  But the moment she talked, we noticed her husky voice.  And  she explained that they were actually thinking of canceling the show as she really didn't have a performing voice that day.  But she said the audience waited for this and the show is for them.  And the fact that they showed up, Regine is more than inspired to continue performing.  In fact, she said "Kahit na dumugo lalamunan ko.  Syeeet, lalabas din 'to (referring to her voice).   And her fans and admirers just loved Regine too much and many shouted "Okay lang Regine", "We love you songbird".  But Regine, in her desire to give her best to the audience, said that she'll do the concert again, for free!  " I'll show you how this should be performed," Regine emotionally added.  And everyone clapped and shouted with joy!

Grab WWF Philippines 'FOR A LIVING PLANET Planner for 2013 / 2014

TADI ALERT:

There's no doubt people go crazy about the free planners from coffee shops (I was before!  hehe).  It's exciting and fun, and some have good cause too!  We just need to buy select coffee drinks and we'll get the stickers to collect for the free planner!  But I guess some are just not into coffee or the drink choices featured in the promo.  And some too are not inclined to joining the race.

I've become one of them so last year, what I got was the "National Geographic" journal because it's unique, it looks cool and it has amazing images of the wildlife! (I always want my things to have something that I will learn about.)  But I want it to be more engaging just like "Navi" or "This Journal Can Actually Change Someone's Life").  And since I'm closely working on projects with WWF, one of the suggestions that we brought up was to have a planner that will feature our environment and the organization's conservation efforts in the Philippines!  Now, there's no need for me to hunt for my next year's planner as WWF finally brought to life that idea! :)

And here is what I am actually looking for: the WWF Philippines' FOR A LIVING PLANET 2013 / 2014 Planner!

And when we get the 'FOR A LIVING PLANET' 2013/2014 Planner, we'll get to help WWF-Philippines' programs on climate change solutions, forest and marine conservation, endangered species protection, and business sustainability.

A New Brand of Comedy in SEEKING FOR A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD

POTATO ON THE GO BULLETIN (Movie):

We’ve all imagined the end of the world – along with the attendant floods, fires, earthquakes, pandemic viruses, and the asteroid hurtling towards Earth which will be destroyed at the last possible moment by human intervention of epic proportions. In writing her feature directorial debut, Focus Features' “Seeking a Friend for the End of the World” starring Steve Carell and Keira Knigtley, Scafaria was more intrigued by what could happen to ordinary people – and how they would interact with each other – in the days preceding The Event.
