My current project with Enercal Plus, Wyeth's premium adult nutritional milk, has given me the chance to know and work with five of our country's Celebrity Achievers.  And lucky foydi, these successful yet down to earth celebrities were all game enough to pose for Tatak Digitista!  =)  So here they are.  Am proud to present, the Celebrity Achievers for Tatak Digitista:

Jett Pangan for Tatak Digitista

Jett Pangan is an icon in the Philippine music scene. He is a singer and guitarist who fronts for one of the most popular Filipino rock bands The Dawn. A rock icon, his career spans more than twenty-five years. And lately, amidst a heavy touring and recording schedule, he has welcomed a new dawn by showcasing his acting chops in musical theater and dabbling in hosting for MYX Live.

Paolo Bediones for Tatak Digitista

Paolo Bediones is a reality show host turned broadcast journalist. From being dubbed as the King of Reality Shows, he recently moved to TV5, and now anchors the late night newscast Aksyon JournalisMo which airs every night. He also co-hosts the station’s morning show Sapul sa 5 which airs daily from 5 to 7 am and his radio program Sakto with Paolo which airs nightly from 8 to 9:30 pm. And in between his news reporting schedule, he tapes regularly for his documentary show USI (Under Special Investigation) and reality TV program Extreme Makeover Home Edition, runs his businesses, performs with his band and supervises his soccer team. He’s such a jack of all trades!

Angel Aquino for Tatak Digitista

Angel Aquino is a top model turned critically acclaimed actress and lifestyle host. As she embraces her successful TV hosting and acting careers, she juggles a full schedule every week. She tapes for her ABS-CBN drama series “Maria la del Barrio” three times a week and reports to Studio 23’s “Us Girls” in between. And in between seasons of her drama soaps, she is able to squeeze in shooting for indie movies and commercials. Aside from her busy work schedule, she is also a full-time mom, her more challenging yet fulfilling role.

Doc Oyie Balburias for Tatak Digitista

Dr. Oyie Balburias is a premiere wellness doctor in the country. Doc Oyie is the Medical Director, Unit Head and Coordinator Physician of the Center for Wellness and Aesthetics of The Medical City as well as the Head of the Emergency Department, also of The Medical City. Doc Oyie is part of Year 8 Core Faculty and Clerk’s Monitor and Year Level 9 Intern’s Monitor of the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. He also co-hosts Pinoy MD, a medical program aired over GMA 7.

Boom Gonzales for Tatak Digitista

Boom Gonzales is a DJ of Magic 89.9, sports and events host, voice-over talent, lead sports anchor of the UAAP and the NBA on ABS-CBN, host of the TV shows Game Day with Boom in Balls TV and Hard Ball in ANC, all round athlete and fitness enthusiast.

Enchanted Kingdom celebrates 16 magical years!

Action & Event-ure:

I would like to believe that it has always been a Filipino child's, and their parents, dream to have a world class theme park available locally, something that is within reach, location and budget wise.  And 16 years ago, during this month of October, that dream was answered!  The Enchanted Kingdom was born and fulfilled  the wishes of Filipino kids and families.

And celebrating its 16 magical years, the Enchanted Kingdom is set to color an October to remember as it celebrates 16 magical years of creating long-lasting smiles and enchanting memories.

The anniversary celebration starts as Eldar the Wiz opens his kingdom filled with festivities for all his guests. Enjoy a blast of hues as EK paints the skies of Sta. Rosa, Laguna with the Grand Finals of the Asian Sky Wizardry Fireworks competition. Witness local and foreign pyrotechnics experts vie for the championship on Oct. 22.

This event, celebrated the world over, reminds everyone to start the healthy habit of proper and frequent handwashing with soap at critical times (before eating or preparing food, after using the toilet and after playing outdoors).

Statistics show that handwashing with soap has been cited as one of the most cost-effective interventions to prevent diarrheal related deaths and disease. In the Philippines, 10,000 die every year from diarrhea. P&G through Safeguard, the official soap partner, and its partners remind everyone that “Clean hands save lives”.

A Dolphin's Survival and The Triumph of the Human Spirit -- DOLPHIN TALE in 3D Movie Review

Finally, after the long wait, we can now witness the story of "Dolphin Tale in 3D" in theaters!  Well, it has been a while since we saw a family movie of this kind but I guess the long wait is worth it as Dolphin Tale, as the trailer already suggested, is one awesome story to watch out for!

Dolphin Tale in 3D is based on a true story of a brave dolphin and the compassionate strangers who banded together to save her life.  Swimming free, a young dolphin is caught in a crab trap, severely damaging her tail. She is rescued and transported to the Clearwater Marine Hospital, where she is named Winter. But her fight for survival has just begun. Without a tail, Winter’s prognosis is dire. It will take the expertise of a dedicated marine biologist, the ingenuity of a brilliant prosthetics doctor, and the unwavering devotion of a young boy to bring about a groundbreaking miracle—a miracle that might not only save Winter but could also help scores of people around the world.

The film stars Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman as Dr. Ken McCarthy, who is given the seemingly impossible task of crafting a new prosthetic tail for Winter; Harry Connick, Jr. as Dr. Clay Haskett, who runs the Clearwater Marine Hospital; Ashley Judd as Lorraine, a single mother; Nathan Gamble as her son, Sawyer, who frees Winter from the trap and forms an instant connection with the dolphin; Cozi Zuehlsdorff as Hazel, Clay’s daughter, who befriends Sawyer; and Kris Kristofferson as Clay’s father, Reed. “Dolphin Tale” was directed by Charles Martin Smith from a screenplay by Karen Janszen & Noam Dromi.

In this challenging and desperate times, people are in dire need of things that could inspire them, give them hope and help them hold on to their faith.  I know this is really quite an enormous challenge because as you know, we live in a fast paced, stressful and anti-social life.  And besides, there are just to many bad stories that flood our media, both mainstream and digital, so a feel good movie such as this is indeed most welcome.

What's Your Number narrates the adventures and misadventures of Ally Darling (Anna Faris), who after reading that magazine article on the average number of lovers women should have in their lifetime, is in hunt for all her exes, to choose one and marry him as she's convinced that she has reached the limit of sexual partners a woman can have before she deemed unmarriageable.  With celibacy as a non-starter, Ally embarks on a mission to find a mate, without adding to the number, by seeking the colorful and strange assortment of her ex-lovers.  Yes folks, all her troubles, started with that one magazine article!  =D  Haha!  Good thing, her hottie-next-door neighbor Colin (Chris Evans) is a handy man that willingly helps Ally in her quest to back track the exes who might happen to be her chosen one!

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA to stage a grand worldwide presentation as it marks its 25th Anniversary

The Phantom of the Opera has hit millions of people worldwide with it great music, grand production details and classic story.  And to mark its 25th Anniversary year, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Cameron Mackintosh will present The Phantom of the Opera in a fully-staged, lavish production, set in the sumptuous Victorian splendour of the Royal Albert Hall with a cast and orchestra of over 200. Audiences around the world are invited to join the celebration on Sunday October 2nd when the event is beamed live via satellite to cinemas across the globe. In the Philippines, United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corporation release it in selected digital cinemas starting Wednesday, October 12th . 

“The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall” will star Ramin Karimloo as ‘The Phantom’ and Sierra Boggess as ‘Christine’. They will be joined by Barry James as ‘Monsieur Firmin’, Gareth Snook as ‘Monsieur André’, Liz Robertson as ‘Madame Giry’ and Wynne Evans as ‘Piangi’, together with a cast and orchestra of over 200 and some special guest appearances.

Folks, get ready to meet Atom, Ambush, Noisy Boy and Midas!  You ask who they are?  Well, they are just the awesome ass-kicking robots of the upcoming DreamWorks Pictures film "Real Steel"!  Get a load of the robots' images as DreamWorks Pictures releases their bus shelter artworks!

“Real Steel” a gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future where the sport of boxing has gone high-tech. In the film, Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next.

When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

Opening across the Philippines on October 12, in IMAX, 2D and regular theaters, “Real Steel” is a DreamWorks Picture to be distributed locally by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International.
