POTATO ON THE GO NEWS FEED (TV):
National Geographic Channel’s thought-provoking six-part series MARS premieres in the Philippines on Sunday, November 13 at 9:00PM. A brand-defining series for National Geographic Channel, MARS tells the story of mankind’s thrilling quest to colonize the Red Planet. This global television event redefines on-air storytelling by combining film-quality scripted drama and visual effects with a powerful documentary interviewing some of the best and brightest minds in modern science and innovation, including Elon Musk.
In the Philippines FOX Networks Group’s National Geographic Channel is asking Filipinos, are you ready for life on Mars?
The MARS exhibition at Activity Pod 4, Bonifacio High Street, will run from November 13 to 19, 2016. A perfect day out for the whole family, this interactive exhibition invites everyone to climb aboard a virtual spacecraft and take the journey to Mars. Kids and adults will learn more about how humans may someday live on another planet – from what we would eat, to where we would live, to how we might travel around our new, extra-terrestrial home. There will be mind-blowing VR experiences powered by Samsung Gear VR, interactive learning tools and out-of-this-world photo opportunities. You can even create your own Mars ID card, ready for the inevitable move to the Red Planet.
Lucien Harrington, SVP of Marketing & Communications for the FOX Networks Group in Asia, said, “MARS is a first-of-its-kind programme for the National Geographic Channel in that it fuses factual with fiction, based on scientific data and predictions. With the on-the-ground activation we have crafted an experience that allows visitors to physically get inside the show.”
FOX Networks Group Asia’s SVP – Marketing & Communications for Asia Pacific and Middle East, Lucien Harrington says: ‘Living on Mars is an occurrence many think we won’t see in our lifetime, but the reality is actually very different. The show highlights the acceleration in thinking and technology on one side, and the need for a planet move in the future due to environment factors on earth, on the other. The experience that has been created brings certain elements of Mars to life, to educate particularly children, about what changes they will need to make and skills they will need to have. After all, they’ll likely be living there.’
Airing on the National Geographic Channel, MARS’ suspenseful story of the first manned mission to Mars will be revealed in one-hour episodes over the next six weeks. The inspiring tale is told from the vantage point of a fictitious crew traveling to Mars and settling up its first colony in the year 2033. As the astronauts explore the astonishing wonders of Mars and grapple with unexpected challenges, the television audience will hear interviews with some of the most fascinating people on Earth, including astrophysicist Neil de Grasse Tyson and business magnate and inventor Elon Musk.
Tune in to the MARS Global Event Series premiere on November 13, Sunday at 9:00PM with continuing episodes every Thursday at 9:00PM on the National Geographic Channel.
