SM Cinema Presents Movies to Remember this September -- LUPIN III, BOXTROLLS and Lav Diaz's MULA SA KUNG ANO ANG NOON

This September marks the beginning of the season to be jolly as SM Cinema exclusively brings three world-class films to its box-office screens.

Lupin III

Three films, in three different genres: SM CinExclusive brings to the Philippine film scene the exclusive screening of the film based on the Japanese manga by the popular manga artist Money Punch, Lupin the Third, starting September 17. This time, the grandson of the legendary Lupin will enter highly secured fortress to steal Cleopatra’s necklace and face-off with mortal enemy, Michael Lee.

Boxtrolls

Starting September 26, the SM Cinema CinExclusive brings to its 2D and 3D cinemas the stop-motion film based on the children’s novel Here be Monsters! by Alan Snow, Boxtrolls. The film depicts the exciting journey of Eggs, a boy who was raised by underground trash-collecting trolls called boxtrolls.

CinExclusive is a program of SM Cinema, the largest film exhibitor in the Philippines with 273 screens in 48 branches across the country. In partnership with renowned film production companies, the CinExclusive program is designed to hold special movie screenings that may only be caught at any SM Cinema nationwide.

Mula sa Kung Ano ang Noon

SM Cinema Centerstage, coinciding with the anniversary of the declaration of the martial law, will also be having a special screening on September 21 of the Festival del Film Locarno’s Pardo d’oro Grand Prize winning film “Mula sa Kung ano Ang Noon” (From What Was Before) by Lav Diaz.  A “horror film,” according to Diaz, Mula sa Kung ano Ang Noon depicts the director’s real-life experience two years before the Martial Law took place in Diaz’s own town.
