POTATO ON THE GO NEWS FEED (TV):
There is no doubt, we're in the middle of the heat here in the Philippines as it's officially summer season! But winter can't be stopped to arrive in the islands.
Winter is coming this Summer (in PH but Spring in USA)! Nope, it's not about climate change. It's about the return of the series I've adored and got addicted to since its season premiere -- the GAME OF THRONES! And it's now on its season five!
The highly anticipated Emmy®- and Golden Globe®-winning GAME OF THRONES returns to the Philippines same time as the U.S. for its new ten-episode fifth season – this Monday, April 13 at 9am on HBO, with a same day encore at 9pm. New episodes debut weekly at the same time. The series will also be available on HBO GO on the same day.
“GAME OF THRONES is the first of our many HBO Original series to premiere in Asia the same time as the U.S., and the first television series to debut worldwide in over 170 countries simultaneously,” said Angela Poh, HBO Asia’s Manager of Communications. “We’re so pleased bring this opportunity for our fans in the Philippines to experience the Iron Throne live. The series is such a huge global phenomenon and we know what a huge hit it is in the Philippines.”
Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, GAME OF THRONES tells an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal.
Jessica Henwick, the first Asian actress cast in the series, features in this new season of GAME OF THRONES. Henwick plays Nymeria Sand, one of the Sand Snakes – the daughters of Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper, a fan favourite of the last season.
This season, Jon Snow is struggling to balance the demands of the Night’s Watch with those of the newly arrived Stannis Baratheon, who styles himself the rightful king of Westeros. Meanwhile, Cersei scrambles to hold on to power in King’s Landing amidst the Tyrells and the rise of a religious group led by the enigmatic High Sparrow, while Jaime embarks on a secret mission. Across the Narrow Sea, Arya seeks an old friend and a fugitive Tyrion finds a new cause. And as danger mounts in Meereen, Daenerys finds that her tenuous hold on the city requires hard sacrifices.
