LOGAN unleashes claws on its midnight screenings on March 1, Wednesday (12:01 AM) nationwide!

Responding to the fever-pitch anticipation of Hugh Jackman’s “Logan”, the most eager of cineastes who want to see it first can finally catch the movie on its midnight screenings (12:01am) set on March 1, Wednesday in Philippine theatres nationwide (check your nearest favorite theatres).

Starring Hugh Jackman in the title role, “Logan” is directed by James Mangold that also stars a powerhouse of a cast that includes Patrick Stewart, Boy Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant and newcomer Dafne Keen. A standalone story that sees Jackman in the final chapter of his Wolverine alter-ego, the movie brings the iconic hero at a crossroads that will finally define his destiny.

Pacific Crest Trail, America’s wildest through-rail, with its infamous harsh passages, has recently rose to further prominence in the latest Reese Witherspoon starrer – “Wild,” based upon the personal accounts of Cheryl Strayed’s  journey to bring her life back together after losing everything that deeply meant to her.


Wilderness epics have been around since the beginning of cinema. But from the 1912 silent film “The Conquest of the Pole” to “Jeremiah Johnson” to “Into The Wild” to “127 HouRs,” nearly all have traced the paths of men far from civilization.  But the fact that WILD takes a different, less expected direction drew a devoted group of filmmakers.

20th Century Fox releases THE MAZE RUNNER manual, code and prayer (Opens Sep 17)

Set in the future where humanity now treads, “The Maze Runner” brings together a group of boys with the exception of one girl in a virtual prison called the Glade where they are mysteriously delivered into to find out who’s the best and fittest - their strength, emotion and intelligence are tested by a covert group of researchers to see who will last in a post-apocalyptic world outside the Glade.


Thomas (played by Dylan O’Brien) enters the Glade with nary a memory of himself except for his name.  Once inside the Glade, he is equally welcomed and scorned by the boys that have been there ahead of him.   Naturally curious, Thomas begins to question their entrapment and starts to find a way out through a dangerous maze within the Glade where massive walls are built that keeps on changing paths every single day.  Along with the elite of runners named Minho (played by Ki Hong Lee), Thomas runs the maze in the morning before the predators, known as the Grievers, come out.

Jesse Eisenberg flies again as Blu in RIO 2 (Opens April 9)

The world over witnessed when a Blue Macaw named Blu domestically grew up with his companion Linda who never learned to fly in the global blockbuster “Rio” from Blue Sky Studios. Blu is voiced by Jesse Eisenberg and reprises his voice act in “Rio 2” where we see him comfortably living in the city with his own family within Linda’s home.


 In “Rio 2,” Blu spreads his wings wider, farther and higher as he and his family, along with their friends Luis, Pedro, Nico and Rafael, take a trip into the Amazon. Jewel (Oscar winning actress Anne Hathaway) and Blu (Oscar nominated Jesse Eisenberg) are now living happily in Rio, with their three kids. It’s a life that suits the thoroughly domesticated Blu, who only discovered he could actually fly in the first film. He enjoys nothing more than human comforts: TV, iPhones and pancakes for breakfast. Jewel’s heart lies in the wild though. This beautiful and feisty bird feels that Blu and the kids are becoming complacent and accustomed to their human comforts. In her mind, birds are meant to be wild and free.
