PRIDYIDER airs on Cinema One this Sunday, August 25

A promising young man JM de Guzman steps in to help Andi Eigenmann in a story of the horrific and terrifying events from the past that have caught up with her present, as they star in “Pridyider”, which airs on Cinema One on Sunday (August 25).

“Pridyider” tells the story of Tina (Andi Eigenmann), a girl who is sent to the U.S. to live with her aunt because something happened to her parents—an incident that has never been explained to her. Hoping for a new start, she returns to her homeland and back into her family’s old house. There, she finds a companion in a young man named James (JM de Guzman), her childhood friend.

Screened at the seventh Cinema One Originals Film Festival, Cinema One brings back the lovable “Dakilang Extra” Lilia Cuntapay through the award-winning “Six Degrees of Separation from Lilia Cuntapay” in a special theatrical run in SM Theaters this Halloween beginning October 31.

The critically acclaimed movie that won numerous awards features Cuntapay’s life as an often disregarded old woman who portrays ghostly and sinister roles in various Filipino horror films. Writer-director Antoinette Jadaone’s directing style aims to show who Lilia Cuntapay is, outside her big horror façade. “This movie will definitely be about the heartbreaks and the joyous life of Lilia Cuntapay,” Jadaone said.

Award-winning Cinemalaya indie film TWO FUNERALS airs on Cinema One on August 5

P.O.T.G. BULLETIN (TV / Movie):

The award-winning Cinemalaya independent film, “Two Funerals” starring Tessie Tomas, Jeffrey Quizon and Xian Lim, airs on Cinema One this Sunday (August 5). The film marks Lim’s first appearance in a full-length movie.

The film depicting ‘grief as a seriously funny business’ by Cinemalaya Best Director, Gil Portes follows the life of a mother (Tomas) who searches for the body of her daughter (Princess Manzon) after getting mixed up with the corpse of a wanted man. To claim back her daughter’s body, Tomas travels with her daughter’s fiancée, Gerry (Xian Lim) from Tuguegarao, Cagayan in the north to Matnog, Sorsogon in the south, a journey to the heart of the country during Holy Week in the heat of the election season.

Cinema One pays tribute to the Comedy King with a marathon of Dolphy movies this July

A marathon of the films of the late Dolphy will be aired the entire week to salute the Comedy King’s stint in show business.

 The “Kool Pinoy Cinema” block which airs every 7:00 a.m. features “John and Marsha” on July 17, “Anthony and Cleopatra” on June 18, “War Kami ng Misis Ko” on July 19 and “Dolphy’s Angel” on July 20. The “Laughternoon Out Loud” block which airs every 1:00 p.m. features “Jack & Jill of the Third Kind” on July 17, “Nang Maghalo Ang Balat Sa Tinalupan” on July 18, “Captain Barbell” on July 19 and “The Godfather” on July 20.

But when he meets Raffy (KC) and as they travel and go on ridiculous and death-defying activities together, they start to form a friendship that goes beyond Eugene’s original plan. Raffy helps Eugene appreciate himself more and to look at things in a positive way. With Raffy, Eugene begins to believe in himself again. Soon, against his own expectations, he admits to himself that has fallen in love with this girl.
