National Geographic Channel takes a funny look at the Internet’s most shocking viral videos in April 2014 when it premieres Science of Stupid, a show that explains why stunts go wrong when amateurs try to copy them. Each episode will examine stunt videos with disastrous endings and explain in scientific terms what factors caused the stunts to fail.

With the boom of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, where people find it easy to post and share interesting information and content, it’s no wonder that some are foolhardy enough to try the crazy stunts that they see professionals do. Such attempts often have catastrophic results—which in turn are posted in the hopes of going viral! Science of Stupid makes sense of this nonsense by showing the necessary setup to make the stunt successful along with what the people in the video did wrong to make things go haywire. It uses visual diagrams to explain the scientific principles applied—or in these cases, not applied—during each attempt.

As a popcorn film fanatic, movies about the space do fascinate me.  But when it's about the real thing - meaning facts and theories about stars, planets and the rest of heavenly bodies in the universe, then it fascinates me even more! So this new space series is definitely a must watch for me, and I think for you too!

Aside from Philippine's signature dish adobo, the Philippines and its people can be defined by two things: Videoke and Basketball.  Every family, barangay or town commune or celebrate life via adobo, videoke and bastketball! I bet you'll agree with me in this statement.  

Why Basketball?  Why is there an undying love for basketball among Filipinos?  These questions are what National Geographic Channel wants to answer in its new series Pinoy Hoops!  PINOY HOOPS is hosted by Rafe Batholomew, author of the best-selling book Pacific Rims (this is not the robot-alien mosnters movie hehe), who will guide televiewers on a journey to the very heart of basketball-obsessed country to uncover why the sport has been embraced wholeheartedly by Filipinos from all walks of life.

Three Exploratory New Films Offer Definitive Examination into Why and How the Titanic Sank, Who Fought to Save Her and How to Protect the Legacy of the Most Star-Crossed Ship of the 20th Century 

The National Geographic Society and National Geographic Channel have announced a major cross-platform initiative to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, to take place in April 2012, including three documentaries, a magazine cover story, books, and more.

At the centrepiece of the plans are three premiere films, two featuring National Geographic Explorers-in-Residence Robert Ballard and James Cameron, premiering April 8, Sunday at 9 p.m. In Titanic: The Final Word with James Cameron (April 8, 10 p.m.), the Oscar-winning filmmaker leads the ultimate cold-case investigation into the tragedy, bringing together the world’s leading Titanic experts to solve some unanswered questions behind the disaster including: How exactly did the ship break up? Why is one section of the ship so far away from the rest of the wreck? In Save the Titanic with Bob Ballard, the iconic explorer who discovered the Titanic retraces the steps of the people who set sail on that fateful journey and renews his quest to protect the legacy and the graveyard of the Titanic for another 100 years.

It was said that Malacanang was derived from the Tagalog phrase "May Lakan Dyan" (there is a noble man there) since locals referred to it as a place of a wealthy and powerful man or "Mamalakaya" since fishermen frequented the river bend where the Palace now stands.


It was also once dubbed as a “foremost home” by Spanish governor generals. The Americans on the other hand made it a social hub for the country’s elite while the Japanese transformed it into a garrison.  Yet after all these changes, Malacañang Palace still stands proudly by the Pasig River today. One would wonder what is now inside the cordoned-off areas of the palace.

On March 18, at 9pm catch the premiere of the original documentary Inside Malacañang as National Geographic Channel (NGC) takes you to an exclusive guided tour inside the official residence of the country’s chief executive.

Don't run away from your duty but run to save the planet! Run in the Nat Geo Earth Day Run 2010!

Alongside Knight Rider, The V and Thudercats, the National Geographic Specials or Nat Geo is one of the TV programs that nurtured my young mind. And thanks to Nat Geo [and Indiana Jones! =)], it once influenced me to dream of becoming an archaeologist (the childhood fantasy) and pursue a college course that could help me become a video documentary writer and producer of stories about nature and culture (the dream job). That’s why I exerted all efforts to have a stint in broadcast communications and eventually I was able to work with news and magazine TV programs at the early part of my career.

Well, my career path is another story to tell but all I could say is that I already found my spot in the world and from where I am right now I think I could marry all my interests and enjoy its fusion! =)

So here it is, I’m blogging now about my favorite National Geographic Channel! =)

From the information I got, the National Geographic Channel is mounting the Earth Day Run 2010 on April 18, 2010, 5:00 a.m., at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City in an effort to inspire people to care about the planet and help save the environment. Earth Day Run 2010 will feature 3-kilometer (K), 5K, and 10K races. Entry fees are PhP500 (3K), PhP600 (5K), and PhP700 (10K), inclusive of a limited edition Earth Day Run technical shirt.
