Manila lands role in PACIFIC RIM

Last year, Manila, The Philippines and Filipinos were on the limelight as it starred in 3 movies: The Campaign (highlighted in the campaign speech), Battleship (mentioned in the battle plan) and Bourne Legacy (where Manila played Manila, the setting of the story).  Now, Manila shines anew as it gets special mention, this time in the main trailer of Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures' “Pacific Rim.”

Manila is the second city to be attacked by alien-like sea monsters originating in the Pacific Ocean. Scenes pertaining to the Manila attack are also featured, which are expected to create a sensation when the film opens locally in July.

Del Toro releases online the WonderCon footage of PACIFIC RIM

Due to persistent clamor, director Guillermo del Toro has agreed to release the WonderCon footage of his upcoming giant-monsters-vs-giant-robots film “Pacific Rim” which can be viewed at Warner Bros.' Philippines YouTube channel.  Here's the link:

“This was originally intended for only WonderCon,” said del Toro in a statement, “but after listening to so many of you asking for more of the movie online, I think it time for me to show you more footage. Enjoy, my friends!”

Meet the Robots of PACIFIC RIM

Last week, it was revealed that Manila will figure in Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures’ “Pacific Rim” as one of the world cities attacked by sea monsters known as Kaiju. Now, the studios have released the images of gigantic robots known as Jaegers which man created to fight the Kaiju.

The five Jaegers being introduced are Russia’s Cherno Alpha, Japan’s Coyote Tango, USA’s Gipsy Danger, Australia’s Striker Eureka and China’s Crimson Typhoon.

Warner Bros. Unveils The HOBBIT and PACIFIC RIM Posters

In time for next week's Comic-Con in the US, Warner Bros. has unveiled the teaser posters of two of its eagerly anticipated potential blockbusters: “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and “Pacific Rim.” Check out the one-sheet artworks below!

From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson comes “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” the first of two films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien. The adventure follows the journey of title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakenshield. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.
