Columbia Pictures has just released a special video featuring the spooky but beloved characters from “Hotel Transylvania 2” wishing everyone a fa-boo-lous Halloween this Friday, Oct 31. The video also shows Count Dracula giving safety reminders on how to make this Halloween a “monster of a celebration.”

“Hotel Transylvania 2” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 smash hit “Hotel Transylvania” from Sony Pictures Animation. Director Genndy Tartakovsky returns to helm the sequel, as do screenwriters Adam Sandler and Robert Smigel.

Columbia Pictures releases extended clip of THE EQUALIZER

Columbia Pictures has just released a five-minute extended clip from its upcoming action thriller “The Equalizer” which may be viewed here:

From Antoine Fuqua, director of “Training Day” and “Olympus Has Fallen” comes “The Equalizer” starring Denzel Washington.

In the film, Washington plays McCall, a man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him to lead a quiet life in peace. But when McCall meets Teri (Chloë Grace Moretz), a young girl under the control of ultra-violent Russian gangsters, he can’t stand idly by – he has to help her. Armed with hidden skills that allow him to serve vengeance against anyone who would brutalize the helpless, McCall comes out of his self-imposed retirement and finds his desire for justice reawakened. Columbia Pictures releases new 22 JUMP STREET posters

Two new onesheet artworks for “22 Jump Street,” the sequel to the 2012 action-comedy blockbuster “21 Jump Street,” have just been launched by Columbia Pictures.

The first poster shows Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill holding golden guns with the tagline, “They're Not 21 Anymore.” The second finds the boys in spring break mode and has the slogan, “These Undercover Cops Are Going to Party Like It's Their Job.”

The sequel to last year's box-office hit “Planes” (grossing more than $200 million worldwide), “Planes: Fire & Rescue” is a new comedy-adventure about second chances, featuring a dynamic crew of elite firefighting aircraft devoted to protecting historic Piston Peak National Park from raging wildfire.

When world famous air racer Dusty (voice of Dane Cook) learns that his engine is damaged and he may never race again, he must shift gears and is launched into the world of aerial firefighting.

Right from the start, the filmmakers of TriStar Pictures' new mystery drama “Heaven is for Real” knew if they were going to bring the best-seller of the same title to contemporary audiences they would need a crack cast to truly bring the Burpo family's true story and their unusual predicament to life.

Todd Burpo would be especially challenging to cast, as a devoted but down-to-earth family man sent reeling by a riveting mystery when his son begins to talk of his trip to heaven. Director Randall Wallace says that the first name that came to mind was Greg Kinnear. Kinnear came to the fore in a series of sparkling comic roles in “As Good As It Gets” and “Little Miss Sunshine,” went on to portray a wide range of memorable characters and is currently starring as an outspoken lawyer on television’s “Rake.”

Tom Hanks plays the titular, true-to-life character in Columbia Pictures' “Captain Phillips,” a multi-layered examination of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates. 

The film focuses on the relationship between the Alabama’s commanding officer, Captain Richard Phillips and the Somali pirate captain, Muse (Barkhad Abdi), who takes him hostage.

Sequel 22 JUMP STREET starring Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum starts production

Principal photography began September 28th, 2013 on Columbia Pictures' and MGM's 22 Jump Street, the sequel to the 2012 action-comedy blockbuster 21 Jump Street, which took in more than $200 million at the worldwide box office.

22 Jump Street reunites Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as they return to their roles as undercover cops Schmidt and Jenko; they are also re-teaming with 21 Jump Street producer Neal H. Moritz ("Fast and Furious" franchise) and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, upcoming The LEGO Movie). Alongside Hill and Tatum, Ice Cube reprises his role as Captain Dickson.

Sony Pictures rolls out new posters of INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2

Sony Pictures Releasing International has rolled out two one-sheet layouts for “Insidious: Chapter 2,” the terrifying sequel to the acclaimed 2011 horror film “Insidious” from the famed horror team of director James Wan (“Saw,” upcoming “The Conjuring”) and writer Leigh Whannell.

Starring the original cast led by Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey and Ty Simpkins, “Insidious Chapter 2” follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.

With the current Facebook trend #ThrowbackThursdays, Columbia Pictures has released a new poster art for the upcoming comedy flick GROWN UPS 2 featuring actual photos of its actors Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and David Spade as young men.

In the film, after having the greatest time of his life three summers ago, Lenny (Sandler) decides he wants to move his family back to his hometown and have them grow up with his gang of childhood friends and their kids. They’ll face new challenges and meet new friends in the next chapter of the epic story of refusing to grow up.

AFTER EARTH opens at No. 1 in the Philippines

Columbia Pictures’ “After Earth” starring Will Smith and Jaden Smith, rocketed to the No. 1 spot of the Philippine box-office, with a first-day gross of P8.72-million on its opening day.

This was announced recently by Victor R. Cabrera, managing director of Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. Described as the ultimate father and son adventure, “After Earth” dislodged “Fast and Furious 6” from the top box-office spot.
