Network Wars Ceasefire -- GMA Network, ABS-CBN and TV5 unite for DOLPHY: ALAY TAWA TV special

The network wars in the country, with the dreaded cutthroat competition around, may be considered as the most intense in recent years but forging a ceasefire isn't impossible especially for a good cause.  :)   In a rare occasion, broadcasting giants GMA Network, ABS-CBN and TV5 will unite to take part in the production and simultaneous airing of a two-and-a-half-hour TV special to pay homage to the late Philippine King of Comedy, Dolphy.

The TV special dubbed “Dolphy: Alay Tawa,” was an idea of one of Dolphy’s sons, director Eric Quizon, who had thought of coming up with a show that will not only have an entertainment value but also be a fund-raiser of sorts to continue the legacy of his late father who had helped his fellow through various foundations.

Rafael Rosell excited to work with Marian Rivera in the remake of TEMPTATION OF WIFE

In his contract signing with GMA-7, new kapuso Rafael Rosell shared how excited he is to be working with Kapuso stars, most especially Marian Rivera who will be his leading lady in the Philippine remake of the Korean series “Temptation of Wife.”

“Kung pwede lang akong tumambling ngayon gagawin ko e (laughs). Ganun ako ka-excited. It’s a new journey, new people to work with, new atmosphere. Para sa akin change is good; it will help you develop more as a person not just as an actor. Mas mag-eexpand yung experience ko dito,” said the model-actor.

GMA Network Keeps the Lead in Nationwide Ratings

GMA Network, Inc., the Philippines’ number one broadcast network, recorded a strong start for the second half of 2012 with another month-long win in nationwide television ratings this July.

According to full July data (July 1 to 21 official data; July 22 to 31 overnight data), GMA Network scored 33.3 points in total day (6AM to 12MN) household audience shares in National Urban Philippines, 1.1 points higher than ABS-CBN’s 32.2 and 18.4 points higher than TV5’s 14.9.
